eBay FENTON - 2001 QVC - Favrene Sitting Cat Figurine HP and signed by R. DehmartEtched Signature of Scott Fenton Condition -This item is in a 'near new' condition. Previously displayed only with my personal collection. It is a beautiful A+ piece with no chips, voids or cracks. However, it was brought to my attention (8/25/23) that this item in all of its various (green, blue, etc) color variations, including this particular one; quite often have a factory 'pimple' on the near end of the tail. It is not an overwhelming noticeable FACTORY DEFECT but seems something that went without being addressed at Fenton.* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Please, also, see the pics for this item’s condition as an additional documented portion of the item description This little charmer was a QVC purchased item in a Fenton Family Signature event. Thus the etched signature of Scott K. Fenton on the bottom as depicted in the pictures. Favrene Glass making: Favrene was a VERY LIMITED technique used in glass making because of the expense of the silver used in the glass mixture and the very infrequent successful outcome. Shimmering tones of pure silver in the batch allow Favrene glass to project a rainbow of color. Favrene glass is made with silver that is coaxed to the surface in a special reheating process. When sprayed with metallic salts it develops a silvery-blue satin luster. The aesthetic and mesmerizing effect of 'Carnival' glass has been an endearing quality by the many glass collector's for OVER a century. It is one of a glass art collector's goals and, finally, considered a treasure, indeed, after acquiring their first piece of 'Carnival Glass'. The deep changing colors in these iridized glass objects have captured a dimension in the flow of color from one to another with perfection that only nature can transcend! Selling my Fenton treasures to a new home for others to enjoy! Every home should have a piece of Fenton Art Glass to 'have and to hold" to delight people of all ages! This item is an exquisite part of the history of glass making in America. The beauty and uniqueness of this item was done by the artisans of the blown art glass making industry with the greater than 100 years of expertise at the Fenton Art Glass plant in Williamstown, West Virginia. This decorative art glass making process is a conglomeration of the many artisans at the factory but this art form is now in jeopardy; which will be getting more scarce, with the closing of one factory after another. Shipping to the lower 48 states only. Shipping via USPS Parcel Select Ground as the most economical shipping method that arrives to you in 2 to 8 days depending on distance of transit. Thank you for looking! (Condition: New (Other))
